Common Therapy Questions

Feel Free To Reach Out With Other Questions!

Do You Accept Insurance?

Our therapists are typically “out of network” for most insurance companies. We can provide reimbursement paperwork that will allow partial or full reimbursement if your care plan covers therapy costs. If you contact your health provider about coverage they will call this paperwork a “superbill”.

Do You Offer In Person Sessions?

At the moment we are telehealth only. We use a platform called Simple Practice that is easy to use and similar to Zoom. We can also help you if you need help getting started with it.

How Should I Choose A Therapist

Therapy is all about fit. Find someone who you feel safe with and whose approach fits for you. Also take advantage of our free 15 minute consultations to meet with multiple therapists and find out which one you connect most with.

What Is Your Approach?

Our approach is attachment based, and specifically called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). This type of therapy includes evidence based attachment research and warmth/empathy.

Do I Need Individual Or Couples Therapy?

Both can be very beneficial, but depending on timing, availability and biggest presenting concern can help you decide. Individual therapy gives you space to focus on you and EMDR therapy for Trauma is beneficial for individual therapy specifically. Couples therapy is particularly beneficial when relationship distress is present and when both partners are willing to participate. You can also ask your therapist in your consultation meeting.

What Kind Of Relationships Do You Work With?

Therapy is all about fit. Find someone who you feel safe with and whose approach fits for you. Also take advantage of our free 15 minute consultations to meet with multiple therapists and find out which one you connect most with.
